Voting is only route to change

Albert Einstein is credited with exclaiming, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results”.

Are you feeling more than a little insane?

Probably. Since Trump slid into office on the moldering grease of the electoral college, a majority of Americans are living on the verge. From his inappropriate tweets to his non-stop lying, Trump severely tests our grasp on reality. Are we living in the Land of Lunacy? Have we taken up residence in Bedlam Gardens? Should we nail our mattresses to the walls in protection against our bouncing against them ... each and every day?

Here’s where Einstein comes in. We are being driven crazy by Trump, but we do the same thing over and over. What are we thinking? That our howls about the truth, about decorum, about reason, about basic human feelings in regard to other human beings will change Donald Trump? That Republicans in the House, in the Senate, in state legislatures will suddenly stop wagging their tails and barking “yes” or “no” to Trump’s commands?

Silly, insane, us. Howl as we might, in anger or with reasoned indignation, Trump and his Republican enablers ... Will ... Not ... Listen ... Understand ... or Change.

We must change. We must vote in numbers never before seen in a mid-term election. We must register and bring citizens to the polls who have given up. We must speak the language Trump’s Republicans will listen to, will understand, will bring change. Votes.

Remember this. Trump’s Republicans are not insane. They keep doing the same thing because what they are doing does deliver the same results. Results that serve them and their master’s interests.
